Clik here to view.Long Beach residents will benefit from new federal stimulus grant funding awarded to Los Angeles County. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the award of $32.1 million to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, to launch initiatives that promote physical activity to obesity and related chronic disease and to reduce tobacco use and exposure. The City of Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (Long Beach Health Department) was a partner in the submission of the grant application, and will now receive up to $1 million in grant funding over two years to address these issues in the City of Long Beach.
