Long Beach has been upgraded to a “Silver Bicycle Friendly City” by the League of American Bicyclists. This award puts the City of Long Beach in a select group of cities across the nation; only five other cities were upgraded from Bronze to Silver, and only 39 cities have Silver status.
“This is truly a citywide recognition, as our Bike Friendly initiatives are promoting economic development and sustainability as well as increasing ridership,” Mayor Bob Foster said. ““As a result of our investment in bicycling related infrastructure, Long Beach is becoming an even more attractive place to live, work and visit.”
